Just challenging everyone to set aside the traditional "talking points" and look outside the box.

< sigh > There's a lot going on in the world right now.

If you choose to look at it through the context of global population a lot of things will start falling into place.

Of course .... you may not like what you see.

(Out of respect to the Walrus i'm out of it.)

As others mentioned there are more problems with exhaust than CO2, but the problem with soda lime is it gets used up converting the CO2. So how about this.

Let's strap an aquarium on the roof and fill it with scummy pond water. The exhaust gets routed to the aquarium and provides the CO2 to get the algae growing real good. And the President recently talked about turning algae into fuel, so we can harvest the algae out of the aquarium, process it, and run it into the gas tank. We'll all drive cars with less pollution that never need gasoline.

But back to your idea. What you are proposing is called a CO2 scrubber. There are scrubbers on the market, including ones that use soda lime. I have no idea if anybody has ever tried to put one on a car.

C02 makes up 90% of the exhaust. And i have taken that fact into consideration, the two creens wil be replacable. The soda lime will be put in a cartrage and that cartrage will be replacable. And when the soda lime absorbs the c02, it becomes soot.
If you read the entire forum posts, then you would know that this will most likely not be usable in cars until i find a better solution.
Also, soda lime is what they put in gask masks for fire fighters. or at least used to. and thats not a lot of soda lime, so im assuming that the co2 can hold up for a while.

If you would like to see the improved plan, i have made a diagram and put my full plan on a google document here.

CO2 is NOWHERE NEAR 90 % of exhaust gases....more like 14 %
Even Nitrogen only makes up 71 percent. Very nearly in the same ratio that scuba divers breathe and is now used to fill up tires.
More of the self perpetuating hoax from the greenies.

Hm. Im not sure where i got my info, but i know i heard more is in there. But still, co2 is the most harmful chemical in the exhaust, and cars are being driven somewhere in america 100% of the time. Thats still a junk load of co2.

Bobodu, hope you are not ragging on nitrogen use in tires. There are several very real advantages.
