UPDATE; I guess I DON'T need one after all; When I originally posted I went to move the tractor out of the garage to get at something taht was behind teh tractor and it cranked like crazy but no fire; a quick spark test came back "dead"; so with way too much work to do and too little time in which to do it ( Ive been trying to finish a roof, soffit and fascia on my house with alot of wood replacement underneath largely by myself;) so I pushed the tractor aside and "forgot" about it; figuring that like my previous similar machines, the ign module had puked.
So finally earlier tonite, I found a few mins to go get the engine numbers off it to see if a replacement that I'd been offered on another site would supersede/"fit" my tractor I tried to start again; same result--no spark.
I unhooked the 3 wire plug from the stator and I got spark back! Rehooked the plug wire and yup--it started!!! Yay!!!

I rehooked the 3 wire plug and I expected it to stall/die--but it DIDN'T!!!

:
Then shut it off/re started it 4 times without fail. Bad connection
