I am working on PM 542000, SN: 8726232. This generator belongs to a Buddy of mine. He bought it during our power outage and never could get the engine to start/run. Upon tear down I find that the exhaust valve lifter is missing. After searching I can not find a service manual, Coleman and Pramac America list the manual as NLA. I need to remove the generator head, so that I can get the sump cover off to check further into the missing lifter problem. If anyone has any ideas/suggestion on how to remove the gen. head it will be greatly appreicated. Thank you for your time.

Marlin, your suggestion worked like a charm. The only bad thing, found the exhaust valve lifter in the bottom of the sump in 4 pieces, with 3/4's of the exhaust lifter bore broke out. Its now on its way to the j-yard.
