Hey guys...was wondering what ya'll might think about this issue
My snapper rear engine rider has a Briggs model 28B707....type 1153-E1....code 020326Z0
i have a fuel shut off valve between tank and carb and when i cut i usually remember to shut it off and i run the fuel out the carb till engine kills
but a lot of times my wife likes to cut while i weedeat.....anyway most times when she finishes she kills the engine without shutting the fuel valve off...and i forget to go behind her and correct the problem
and i whine up with fuel getting pass the needle and flooding my engine base....leaks so bad when you try to crank it with air filter off.....it will shoot gas out the top of the intake like a volcano..
and naturally when this happens...the base of the engine is no longer oil in it......but filled with gas..
i take the carb apart and cleaned everything and even put a kit in it....changing the seat ( nothing but brass) needle valve...emulsion tube..the works....but this problem always resurfaces after a little time..
my question is.....i'm not crazy about this brass seat in this LMT carb...it has no rubber grommet in this brass seat sleave to help seal the needle valve....so are these LMT carbs just a defect kind of carb with this leaking this much? i''ve also changed just the needle out on this carb and the problem comes back.....so either my brass seat has an issue...or these LMT carbs are a leak fest..and its in the design...this is on the engine that has low compression i mentioned in forum some time back, and when it peters out all together...i want to re-power the mower....so i really don't want to put another $100 dollar LMT carb on it because this engine is on Hospice care...lol..so curious if any of you had major leak issues with this type of carb..
