According to Ariens "Parts Radar
is an ST724
Ariens says the 7HP is an HSK70 (H70) 130067A
. I added the H70 because
I don't think you'll find this spec under HSK70. If this information is accurate on a machine
this old, if this is the "original engine
", etc...etc....it should have just 1 shaft, a
3/4" diameter crank, 2 3/8" long. Tecumseh hasn't built an H/HSK engine in 14 years, so....
finding one will be a difficult thing. However, if I'm correct....the engine just sits openly on
this frame, and don't see why you couldn't replace with a newer style OHV engine.
Look at smallenginewarehouse.com
.....Item # OH195SA 72536
It's an OHV SnowKing,
3/4" shaft for $249.95
with FREE SHIPPING
. If your engine has just the ONE
engine should bolt right on. Since you're changing models/designs of engines...the
throttle controls/hook-ups may be different, but you can easily adapt to these changes.
According to their "Re-Power Info
" at this website....the ST724 has TWO
(2) shafts ??
Again....if yours has 1 shaft....this spec matches yours. Why not LOOK ON YOUR ENGINE
and find the model and spec information to CONFIRM
we are talking about the same thing ??T-Man
