Could anyone tell me if Blue Max is an independant company or if not, who makes this saw?
Wondering where to look for a replacement clutch / drum for a Blue Max super steel ??? We are not familiar with this brand of chainsaw so any help that can be provided to us would be greatly appreciated.

That is a clone of a Shindaiwa 488. The availability of parts is likely the same as other cloned products..........

Northern Tool carried the same saw but it was called something different.

Homier has parts
You will need to use email to get your part number
They have some customer service(I would give them a 5 out of ten)
Very hard to get to talk to someone I have found
I am not selling their stuff anymore
You can get a reps number if you are spending $5k a month with them.
I did not know those were a Shindaiwa 488 clone
They usualy clone a top selling product
I wonder why they would copy a product with close to a zero market share
I seen them at the louisville show last year(bluemax)
They had a big booth with mostly generators

I often wonder the same thing Dan. I used to sell Shindaiwa and was kind of flattered when they started cloning them. I think it is probably because the Shindaiwa is more prevelant in the asian markets and for $129 people don't care what they are buying, easy access in other words.
