Snapper snowblower

Postby nitsuj » Mon Jan 19, 2009 5:58 pm

So I've got this single stage snapper snow blower I repaired for a friend. Model# 3202 Serial# 94522500. I have it fixed and it's running ok, but I'm curious about something. Should there be something covering the intake of the carb? I'm used to seeing snowblowers with no air filter since there isn't much dust in the snow. But this one seems like the intake is in a spot where it would get some snow or water in it if there wasn't some sort of shroud over it other than the outer body of the snowblower. There is a threaded hole on each side of the intake. Should something go there? I've search around and not found any diagrams or parts lists to look at. Can anyone shed some light?

It's called a "carb stove" you might check E-bay they are held on by 4 screws on in front (engine) one on top (engine) and 2 little screws by the carb

I believe the part you are reffering to is called an air baffle PN# 570434, it is a small metal "cup"

here is an IPL of a Tec AH600 which is a common 2 cycle snowblower engine. The baffle if #90

Of course if you do not have AH600 it is not the part but hope it is a good reference.

Manual says AH600 1620
if it has the briggs 62032 on it there were two different intake covers..dependent on which type primer bulb used.

Thanks for the advice guys. I called the local Snapper parts place and they said according to their information, nothing was supposed to be mounted on the intake on that model. I happened to be working on an MTD machine at the same time. It had what looked like the same carb on it, and it did have a cover over the mouth of the carb. So I guess I can just get one made for an MTD. It looks just like the one in the link patsfan posted. I'll try that. You may have bad taste in football teams but you sure know your snowblowers. ;-)
