John Deere 732 snowblower

I just finihed repowering this old beast i was hoping that somebody can tell me when it was made i was amazed that they would put a little 7 hp tecumseh on it but it seems to have plenty of power. thanks

They are great machines. My Dad has a 726 which he purchased in 1971. I have had to install a short block about 10 years ago, but nothing other than regular maintance items, (ie, oil changes, belts, and a carb rebuilt last week).
John Deere introduced the 526, 726, and 732 in 1970. You would have to post your serial numbers for the machine and engine (if still original) to try and pin point the exact manufacture date of your machine.

the motor that blew up was # H-70 130087 Ser # 0184 07108
the engine i put on is H-70 130101A Ser # 1194D

Paul,

H50 thru H70, and coinciding snow engines, HSK50-70, were GREAT engines.
These, and their vertical shaft equivalents (V50 thru V70) were, in my opinion,
BEST ENGINES Tecumseh ever built. With good maintenance, they were easily
1000 hour engines. I've seen usage such as this MANY TIMES. If you think about
the amount of time an average home owner uses his machine each year...that's
a LOT OF YEARS on an engine.

well i got a chance to use it today 32 inche bucket is alot differnt that 24 inches i have on my old gardenway troy bilt it could use some new skids and chains maybe alittle paint but i am very pleased thank you for all of the info.
