This winter a customer installed a CV14s on a log-splitter to replace a 6hp that gave up. Wouldn't run??? Maybe the tank being lower than the carb, and no fuel pump would cause this?? No opening to mount a mechanical pump, and no crankcase port to operate a pulse pump. An electric pump is ~$50 plus the install labor. We built new brackets to raise the tank outlet about 2" above the carb inlet to solve the fuel supply challenge. We used the key switch off the Craftsman mower as well as the starter solenoid, the battery, and some of the wiring. The manual Carl suggests is a good source. It won't show any of the safety switches, interlocks, etc. that the tractor would have, of course; just a very basic diagram of what the engine needs to run.
