Hello Bruce, thanks for the heads up. This was along the lines I was thinking. Yes, I am very aquainted with Rube Golderg, redneck engineering, jerry-rigging, hack artists, etc... Surprisingly, other than being covered in black tape, the splices were well done. Textbook example of stripping insulation off yellow wire, wrapping conductor of spliced wire around conductor of yellow wire, and soldering all together.
Supposedly, this alternator and regulator worked, so I am hoping nothing is damaged by the hack job. Granted, I only paid $10.00 for all of it, but that is beside the point.
