the problem is: my engine wont start or is extremely hard to start when its damp outside, or in a damp/wet environment. the engine is actually a boat motor. its a go devil. the last few mornings i have tried to start it to go do some hunting and i cant get it to start. it turns over and i have spark but it makes a deep gurgling sound and back fires through the muffler. kinda like its flooded. the kicker is, as soon as it dries up, sun comes out and burns off the dew, the engine fires up just fine. i have pulled the plugs and checked to see if there are firing and they are. tried disconnecting the ground from the key switch and that didn't make a difference. sprayed down all the wiring with a silicone spray and no help either. i know the fuel is good, new fuel form a reputable station. just replaced all the o-rings and plugs about 3 weeks ago cleaned the carb and fuel pump, changed the oil and filter. i found a coroded hot wire that looks like it goes to the rectifier, but i thought that the rectifier is more for the charging system. my next step is to do something with the ignition coils. any thoughts? i have talked to a repair shop about the troubles, he is as puzzled as i am. he called honda and they were the ones who suggested disconnecting the key ground. thanks in advanced for any help.
